Don't leave wet items lying around the house, mold can't grow without moisture, so tackle wet areas right away. It's always a good idea to make sure to dry the floor and walls after a shower and don't leave wet clothes in the washing machine, where mold can spread quickly.

The key to mold prevention is simple: moisture control. Indoor humidity between 30 and 60 percent is recommended. Mold can grow anywhere: on carpet, clothing, food, paper, and even in places you can't see so make sure control it so you don't have problems.
